  1. buy a fluffy blanket, keep it warm.  they like to feel a heartbeat, so hold them close to you or buy something that ticks.  they will be running all over the place in no time.  congrats!

  2. Put the cat in a quiet room with it's toys/food/water and litterbox.  Let it get used to the smells and sounds of the house for a few days.  Go in and spend a little quiet time playing and talking gently to him/her.  Slowly increase his exploring area by closing doors and letting him in parts of the house - always leaving his door open - and when the household isn't frantic.  Let him explore on his own, don't keep "showing" him things - they don't understand what you are saying or doing.  This will help them adjust to the household without anxiety.

  3. Give them toys, food, a pet bed with a warm fuzzy blanket and love and they'll feel welcome and LOVE you.

  4. i think you should let them be around the house, you know hug them

  5. Let them sleep on your bed--they love the den experience and they are very social and you will become Momma , alpha cat, so they will want to be close to you and beloved of you.

  6. What JustaHuman said.  Start them off in a safe room (a large closet, extra bathroom) where they can have a nice safe area to explore that isn't too intimidating and where they can get used to the new smells.  Slowly enlarge their world by opening up more and more of the house to them.

Be very gentle and quiet.  Go in there and lay down with them and let them approach you.

I'm assuming they are on solid food by now?  Even still, they may enjoy a treat of formula from a bottle.  If you lay down and have them lay on you while they drink from the bottle...well, it is a very mothering act and will help them to see you that way and bond with you.

Before you make their bed, rub the bedding all over your skin so that they will be sleeping with your scent all around them.  It will help them get used to that.

Consider using their carrier as a bed.  If the carrier is a comforting place, and going in it is an ordinary, everyday activity, then it won't be a scary thing for them when you need to put them in it to go to the vet or another trip.  It'll save both of you some stress in the long run.

Finally, don't let them sleep with you in your bed unless you are prepared to make it a lifelong pattern.  If you are cool with that, then go ahead (but try not to roll over and crush them in your sleep...I probably would so I wouldn't let cats sleep in my bed).

Be sure to come back and tell us how it goes.
