How to make play dough? The Kind with Laundry Soap?

I am going to make play dough with my niece and I want the Kind that you use Laundry Soap? And if you have any other ideas to do with my niece?

  1. 1)Silly putty type play dough 1. take liquid laundry starch 2. pour into vat, dish pan, etc. 3. add Elmer's glue 4. work the glue in the liquid 5 once it gets doughy and non sticky, pull it out 6. work it on a flat surface (tray, table, etc.) 7. add food color 8. work in more starch if it gets tacky 9.clean up little hands with starch 10. store in air tight container.

    #2) Blubber Type play Dough (made with Borax)

    What you need:

    1½ cups glue

    4 tablespoons Borax  (laundry detergent aisle)

    4 cups water

    What to do:

    Mix 2 cups of water and the glue in a bowl.

    In a separate bowl, mix together 2 cups water and the Borax.

    After it's dissolved, pour the Borax mixture a little at a time into the glue mixture and stir. You might not need all of the Borax mixture.

    1 cup Ivory Snow laundry detergent

    2 cups warm water

    food coloring

    What to Do:

    electric hand mixer or egg beater

    Add food coloring to warm water, then add to laundry detergent. Mix well with beater until fluffy. Use just like regular play doh.

    *****Warning: Could be toxic if ingested

    The children will love the smell of this playdough!

    #4) this one doesnt use laundry soap, but its always been my favourite cause it uses kool-aid and it looks and smells awesome

    2 1/2 cups flour

    1 cup salt

    3 tablespoons vegetable oil

    2 cups boiling water

    2 packages unsweetened Kool-Aid

    Mix dry ingredients. Add oil and water.  Wearing gloves, knead for 10 minutes. Store in zip lock bag in refrigerator.

  3. There are a bunch of solutions on this website that have laundry soap.  You should make sure the ingredients are not toxic.  Children have the tendency to stick things in their mouth  :)  :

  4. I know exactly what you are talking about, I don't know the kind of laundry but i do know you need glue as well with it if that helps you.
