  1. When I cook popcorn on top of the stove, I use a large pot called a "Dutch Oven" with a snug lid.  (It holds about a gallon.)  I melt a huge spoon of Butter Flavor Crisco in the pot.  Enough to make a liquid layer in the bottom of the pan deep enough to cover one layer of unpopped popcorn.  Put the lid on and LEAVE IT THERE until done popping.  After it starts to pop, use potholders and continually shake the pot so the kernels do not burn and stick to the bottom of the pan.  Move it back and forth and up and down a little.  Keep the temp at about medium high.  When it is done popping, take it off the heat.  Add a little salt if you want to.  Voila!  Butter flavored popcorn.

  2. Popping corn is not the same as normal corn.  To have the best butter flavor, melt real butter and pour it over the popcorn after it's popped.  Toss with salt.

  3. i use any unflavored stove-top brand, they all do the same thing. Once it's popped, i brown some butter, brown not melt, it's browned when the foam stuff disapeas. i pour this over the popcorn and salt it to taste. Mix and eat.

  4. called 'movie theatre butter'
