  1. the amount of oil used to pop pop-corn is small, and if you use olive oil or exrat virgin O.O, then it;s even good for you. i wouldn't worry about it for a diet.

  2. put some popcorn in a paper bag and microwave.

I didn't know this worked until my MIL made some.  I thought she was crazier than usual.  She put 1/4 c popcorn kernels in a brown paper bag and zapped it for a couple minutes.  It popped!

I guess she's not as crazy as I think.  lol

Edit... A brown paper bag is just that.. in the USA, brown paper bags is what kids use to bring their lunch to school... that's if they don't have a lunch box.

Yes, a white paper bag would work.   In fact you can use a large microwaveable bowl with a lid.

Here's what they look like... http://www.kitchensupplydirect.com/groce...

However, the point is that regular popcorn kernels will pop in the microwave.

    Enjoy!

  3. I bought a contraption at Target that you put in the microwave.  It cost less than $10.  I found it in the section near microwaves.  You put the seeds in it, put the lid on, and zap it for 3 minutes.  After it's done popping, I pour it into a bowl and spray it lightly with Butter-flavored Pam so the salt will stick to it.  It's yummy!

  4. Before you could buy microwave popcorn, we just put the kernels in a paper bag and rolled up the top then microwaved it. Don't put too many kernels in, though, because they won't pop as well.

  5. Put a half cup of popcorn in a brown paper bag, roll down the top 3-4 times tightly, then nuke on high.  Stop when you hear 3-4  seconds betweeen pops.

  6. try using butter if u dont want to use oil
