I have recently begun making cold calls for a business outsourcing provider and have found it infinitely hard to get past the receptionist or gate keeper. It is getting frustrating and I really have no idea how to proceed. This is my first time making cold calls so I know I need practice, but would like to know if you have any suggestions. thank you.

  1. You have to be persistent.

Also you have to make a preliminary "sale" before you get in the door.  The preliminary sale is to sell yourself and your service to the gatekeeper.  If you do, you will not only get through the door of the decision makers office, but you will have created a powerful ally.

So, come up with a sales pitch that will make the gatekeeper feel that you deserve a hearing because it will benefit his/her boss and company.

    Hope this helps
