How to make purple lines go away?

I have a Toshiba television. And I just moved it into my room, and for some reason it is showing moving, horizontal, purple, lines! But they don't show up when the TV Guide is on, but show up in that little mini thing on the side. How do I make them go away?

It sounds like bad cabling...you can get lines if your cables aren't fully seated on the TV set and the cable box....

Or you stomped all over them and broke the hair thin wiring in them....or gave them a good <YANK!> when you removed them from the TV/Cable box...try another set of cables.

And if you didn't....well, you might have a bad rca connector on the box or the TV set....and then you need a good TV tech.
