How to make shortcuts on Blackberry?

Is there an easy way to make shortcuts to programs on Blackberry Curve? I want to set it up where I can press a key, or combination of keys to open certain apps and functions.

Yes, under the OPTIONS button- go to SCREEN/KEYBOARD- then scroll down until you see right side key convenience key opens and left side key.....

From there you can set up the apps/functions of your choice.
