This might be a tuffy for some of you. OK, my parents are strict, they don't trust strangers. So, cutting lawns for others is out. We also don't have a lot of money, so doing chores for money is out. My mom and dad don't like the idea of making money online that much. We can't have a garage sale because I live in an apartment. I'm too young to work at a store. What can I do to make money?

  2. try working at jamba juice i think they hire at 15 so if that's soon for you?

also try working customer services at a hotel or company if u are multilingual or bilingual.

  3. Try out gaminglagoon .com a easy way to get prizes for young people. 1 point equals one dollar. You can custom order any prize as long as it is age appropriate. I have cashed out $100 in prizes and amazon gift cards, by only doing free offers. This site is legit, there is a testimonial section in the support forums on their site, some have pics too. There are many testimonials unlike some sites. Also sites like myrewards1 aren't good because they don't have a submit button on the offers, unlike gaminglagooon. Good luck.

There is my ref link if anyone wants to sign up.

  4. First of all I hope you realize that your parents aren't nearly as strict as they are practical. Your safety is way more important than money. While cutting lawns seems to be a popular job for teens, it has alot of legal and physical restraints to it so it's not all it seems. Babysitting is another "easy" way to make money but trust me, it's not easy. What you should do is make a list of your skills, experiences and passions. When you set up a business, it's important to find and fill a need for people and know exactly who those people are that you wish to service. The options for you are products, services or a combination of the two. It's unlikely at 14 that you are looking for a million dollar corporation and if you are, you're not practical. There are library books that can help you learn various teen friendly businesses and not only educate but motivate you also. Ask your librarian for books like "Fast Cash for Kids" by Bonnie & Noel Drew. Another great resource in many communities is Junior Achievements. I encourage you to check them out. Talk to your school guidance office about a work permit when school returns to session. The school often knows of employment opportunities. Show genuine interest. Ask the school about a Distributive Education program which will help find you jobs, pay you and often offer transportation. You won't be 14 forever. It is not wise for a young kid to try to solicit business from strangers so make sure you keep your parents on board with your plans and actions. There are alot of elderly and disabled people who can use your time, talents and energy to do what they can't... laundry, wash walls, paint rooms, clean garages, etc. What knowledge do you have that you can either teach or write about? You may become the "go to" guy for old toys and collectibles that will bring in some serious cash. Look for steals on Ebay and resell. Think about designing websites for small businesses. Do you and/or your friends make any crafts that you can sell at craft shows? What about hosting puppet shows or story hours for kids to give parents a break??? At $2 a kid for an hour show, 10 kids will help your income grow pretty darn fast... $20 here and $40 there will add up and you'll get repeat business and referred business as you get a reputation. If you can sell only $10 a day on Ebay, you've got $300 a month which isn't bad for a teen. Ebay isn't the only place you can sell. Talk to local gift shops and other businesses about selling your stuff on consignment. Check out closeout stores and businesses like Walgreens that offer 50-75% off merchandise after holidays. Set up a recycling center for neighbors to get rid of cans, bottles and other stuff. You can sell the scrap recyclable and help your community at the same time. I made the coolest calendar for a gift using my own photos which could be turned into an "on demand" product to sell. You can turn pics into coffee mugs, aprons, bumper stickers and all kinds of things. Let's say you make $2 profit on an item and sell 50 items a month... not bad for just a little bit of advertising. Money adds up so don't be afraid to make twenty five cents on one item and $2 on another. Put some aside and put some back into your business. Get a legal business license and take tax credits. Do you know how many big businesses started at home??? Coca Cola, Ebay, Microsoft, Dell Computers, etc. Worry about expansion or selling your business after you establish yourself. You're not too young to start a business. Read, network, learn, don't be afraid to make mistakes, but believe in yourself.
