  1. If I am in a hurry, I buy some Ragu sauce, brown some ground beef &/ or italian sausage drain well, add an onion, green pepper, mushrooms, garlic, oregano & basil or italian seasoning (its a mixture of spices). Cook for about 5 minutes on medium to medium high heat.  Add the Ragu sauce & 1/4 cup red wine (optional) & bring to slow simmer, simmer for about 15-20 minutes stirring often.  Boil spaghetti, drain, add meat sauce to it & serve topping with parmesan cheese if desired

  2. Boil water first in a large pot.  Do that first.  You need to fill the pot about 2/3s.  The water is going to take a while to boil-  so always do that first.  While you have the water heating up- brown the meat in a separate pot/saucepan- you can add chopped onion and garlic if you like.  After the meat has browned, drain the fat if desired.  Add jarred spaghetti sauce.  If you want to add some extra seasonings- go with ¼ teaspoon basil and ¼ teaspoon oregano.  Let that simmer until the pasta is done.  When the water comes to a boil, add the spaghetti.  It may not all fit -  you can either break it-  or just stir- it won’t take long for the pasta to soften and then fit in the pot.  Stir for a bit- after the water is boiling again- this is when your cooking time starts.  Read the box for the cooking time-  it’s usually 10-11 mins.  Taste one at the end of the cooking time and see if it’s cooked enough for you.  If it’s still pretty chewy, cook for another minute.  Drain pasta.  Put pasta on plate/bowl, ladle sauce over pasta.  Make sure to have some parmesan cheese on hand - sprinkle on top.

  3. brown the ground beef and Italian sausage together , and cook till sausages are well done.

In another pot I use store bought spaghetti sauce and add either chopped canned tomatoes (San Manzano if you can get them) or fresh chopped tomatoes, chopped garlic, half and onion and a bell pepper chopped up and I love to add sun dried tomatoes as well , they add great flavor. I also add a small amount of grated parmesean cheese (the best you can afford) . I slowly cook the sauce for about an hour and then mix the meat into it and cook about another half an hour or so. spoon over spaghetti noodles and top with some more parmesean cheese and red chili flakes .
