Question:

How to make sub work on cd player and not just radio?

i have a cdx gt420ip sony xplod and the subwoofer is connected but it only works when the radio is playing. when you play a cd or an ipod on the system, the sub is not activated i guess

i had it professionally installed new speakers and sub with xplod amp

clearly works on radio but not on cd at all

any help?

  1. this is actualy the same person who asked it but

    for dylan the way i fixed it was i brought my car back in and they looked at it and when they installed my radio they connected it to power antenna and so the sub only turned on when the radio was activated..id bring it in somewhere


  2. did you get a different head unit. i would check the rca cables to. un less you have the stock radio in.then it wont have rca spots in the back

  3. I am having the exact same problem, I have a Kenwood MPV 5025 head unit and a Kenwood KSC-WD250 powered subwoofer in back. Everything seems to be installed correctly and the sub works perfectly when the radio is on, but when I try to use a CD, or my Sirius radio, the sub does not play.

    I have been fiddling with it for a while now and cannot seem to get it to work. If you DO finally find out how to resolve this problem, please let me know, I will do the same.

  4. your rca cords are probably plugged in wrong and not plugged into a output source.
