How to make toys..........?

For my family living class, I have to make a childs toy for the ages of newborn-5 yrs. What could I make and how?

A cuddle buddy.

Get about a yard of soft flannel, some embroidery thread and a bag of pillow stuffing.

Fold the flannel material in half.

Cut an oval shape, cutting both layers at once.

Take one of the layers and draw an outline of a mouth and eyes, and two dots for nostrils.

Use the embroidery threat to stitch along your drawn outline.

Make the mouth wide and smiling.

You can use different colors of embroidery thread to make it more interesting. Red for the mouth, blue for the eyes, brown for the nostril dots.

Sew the two oval flannel pieces together (on wrong side), leaving about a hand's width at the wide side open.

Turn the flannel 'pillow' outside out.

Push the stuffing in with your hand, then pinch the opening close and finish stitching it shut.

This is an easily washable, soft and cuddly child's companion.

Think of toys you would enjoy if you were that age and create ways to make them such as a teddy bear you can hand sew, make a wooden doll house with wood nails and paint, a simple board game, a puppet by hand sewing. Think about your favorite toys from when u were younger and create your own version! Good luck!
