Question:

How to make wireless connection secure?

I changed the password and tried to change the SSID. We have two computers at home. The computer I changed these settings on worked, but the other comp. lost connection and can't reconnect because our network isn't found. What am I doing wrong? step-by-step instructions would be helpful as I am not too tech savvy. I have tried to find help guides online, but they haven't helped much. It confuses me since we have two comps.

  1. If you wanted a secure wireless connection...

I think you can buy it from a company that gives you a secure connection.

    EG: Verizon

    Hope this helps :)

  2. im not sure, maybe something wrong on ur setting on ur comps.

my wifi, i just did the wpa key(numbers). and it runs smoothly

  3. Go here for help

  4. your other comp is still trying to connect to the old SSID. what you should have done was leave the SSID alone as it was working on both comps. You needed to to establish a password login for the SSID.

This would be found in the security settings, under youre routter login.

  5. My computer doesn't have a wireless card, so I can't give you precise instructions, but in a nutshell, you have to create a connection for the "new" network typing in the new SSID (the router may not be broadcasting it -- a good security measure, by the way) and any encryption key the "old" network had.  Use the same exact case (upper/lower) you used on the router, in case that's important.

    Hope that helps.

  6. All you need is a antispyware, antivirus, and a firewall to keep both pc's secured...
