How to make your amp sound like kurt cobain's in smells like teen spirit?

ok i've looked on youtube, practiced all day, but i can't make my guitar sound like kurt's. i really wanna, but can't. i figure it has something to do w/ the amp. I have a spider III 15, by line 6, and like 6 dials that all have 10 max. the dial names arechannel vol., treble, bass, mid, and some other funky things. heres a link to a close up pic of it. my guitar also has two tone dials. if the link doesn't work, copy and paste it into your adress bar.

kurt used a Boss DS-1 distortion pedal, also single coil pickups on his guitar. generally for recording he used a fender twin amp. But the Boss DS-1 was a MAJOR factor in his tone.
