How to make your own robot or remote controlled car?

My step dad used to make his own remote control cars. How do you do it? Thanks

Go to your local hobby shop and look for a kit for a beginner. Ask about groups and clubs in your area.  Everything from cars, boats, aircraft and robots. It is a great start for robotics, nano technology and micro surgery. All good lucrative endeavors and lots of fun.
