  1. One thing I would advise is to feed her on take off and as you land this will stop her ears from popping and she should be settled on the flight and maybe sleep.  You can always take little things to her entertained on the flight little toys and maybe a few hand held snacks.

  2. I know they don't advise this nowadays because of the supposed dangers but my mom used to give me a teeny-tiny dose of Benadryl before getting on the plane. Or maybe a couple drops of whiskey on the top of my baby bottle. Like I said, no one does this anymore because they are too afraid something bad will happen but my mom swore by it. I would ask your child's doctor before trying anything though.

  3. we are just back from tenerife were are flight was 4 and half hours with my 9 month old daughter we didnt get a seat for her and the plane was so cramped it was awful but she just slept most off the way there and on the way home she slept aswell i had a bottle made for her but on the way home i had 2 make her 1 on the plane and i changed her bum in the toilets as they have we boards that comes down

  4. My husband and I just returned from a beach vacation where our almost 6 mo daughter was in the car for 6.5 hours each way.

I will not recap exactly what we did, but I will make some suggestions that may deliver you the excellent result we had with your daughter during our "first" long trip like that.

    1.  travel her in comfy clothes

    2.  our daughter in not into the pacifier, but I recommend one for you if you baby takes one.  i hear the "sucking" movement helps with flight pressure.

    3.  feed her just before flight takes off so she has a full tummy and design it (if you can) that she is ready for a nap for the first part of the flight.

    4. walk her around the cabin a little during flight.

    5.  bring food (formula and/or breast milk) to feed her (even if you already fed her b-4 flight)

    6.  Break things up by bringing a second outfit and change her midflight with a new diaper just to "freshen" her up.

Now a 2.5 flight is not that long, but I know that "runway" dealys can happen so prepare for worst case scenario with backup food/outfits/etc.  and if you read to her, bring books or just talk to her about pictures in a magazine (babies don't care).

You will do fine.  Our daughter was awesome.

  5. I took my daughter on a 4 hour flight at 6 months and it was actually a lot easier than I had anticipated.  I just brought some of her toys (rattles, pacifiers, teething toys...etc) and some juice and formula bottles and the teething biscuit and for the majority of the flight she actually slept in my arms.  The only other thing she found entertaining was to take to her rattle and bang it on the table tray in front of me, or I would sit her on the tray and let her look out the window.  Good Luck.

  6. my kid was pretty young when we flew

make sure that the "fluid" situation  is ok ffor yr airline.

most give u a little milk  or water to mix into formula.-

make sure that u get the bulk head seat booked so that u can put her in the crib attatched the wall. so u dotn have to carry her the entire flight.

always bring spare clothes for yrself  in hand luggage.just in case she gets sick all over u.

bring  a small zip lock of toys that are cheap - if u  loose them no big deal

a pacifier so that she can swallow on take off for her ears.

most kids will sleep through the flight.

u can also by an airline harness to help her feel more secure- i felt  ok putting pillows around my kid at take off.
