How to manage your money in a Boarding School?

How much does a student spends on the campus in food and basic

things? How much money should parents give us monthly for this?

I go to boarding school and i live on $40 a week. and some weeks i didn't use all of it so the extra adds up. Just be careful of spending money on snacks. It may seen like a good idea at the time, but a bag of $3 soy chips everyday adds up! And drink water not soda

Considering you as a student with normal parents that recieve 'average' income, you shouldn't expect more than a couple hundred a month! If you don't have a meal plan that your parents pay for already, then you should get a piece of paper and a pencil and figure up how much you spend a month in food. If you think you spend too much, just cut down! Buy cheaper food, or buy less of it. I currently skip lunch and sometimes breakfast, which I know isn't healthy, because I pay for my own food and most of the time I'm not hungry. So why spend the money?

Once you figure up how much money you'll spend on food, all that is leftover can be spent on basics. Check around campus and see if you can work part time at a store or do some work for the teachers for a little extra cash, like making copies or grading papers.
