  1. Take two quick breaths in, one breath out.

If you don't concentrate on it too much, you should be able to have a balanced breathing.

  2. When I run I usually listen to music and breath to the beat or sing the song which helps regulate it.  When can not listen to music I count my strides and breath in every 3 to 4 steps and out the next 3 to 4.  You may have a different stride than me so your count will be different. after the first two minutes of running start focusing on your breathing and get in a rhythm.  You will run longer and faster that way too.

  3. sing cadence.  works for the army.  I count.

  4. Well you can either breathe in 3 steps and breath out 2 steps for longer, slower workouts, or for sprinting or short distances you can breathe in for 2 steps then breathe out for one.  Actually,  if you ever have a problem with side cramps make sure you have balanced breathing.  The reason is because if you breathe out on the same step each time, that side of your stomach will be taking most of the jolt, causing it to cramp up.  Hope this helps!
