I believe you mean "Ball Bearings".  Anything that rotates, i.e., engine parts, wheels, carnival ferris wheels, ships/boats props, etc., has "ball bearings".  All sizes are necessary and must be "manufactured" with exact, totally round, smooth, specifications.  This is a "huge" necessity in business around the world.

We have a local company North of Atlanta called "Panduit" and their business, manufacturing "ball bearings".  I have a friend that manages an area and I was able to "tour" but some areas were "off limits" for "security" purposes because they manufacture for the military as well.  Amazing, fascinating to me, how a piece of raw steel is taken, processed with "giant", powerful machines at different stages, creating "ball bearings".

To many, the best known "need" for "ball bearings" is documented from WWII.  Allied "bombing missions' were concentrated on Germany's "bearing" factories and successfull.  Why?  No "ball bearings" produced, No tanks, aircraft, trucks, and much more, could not be built to support Hitler's military.
