  1. its all in the hips

  2. idk

  3. Everone looks stupid doing it... Especially the guys in speedos

  4. To get you started think of this mantra:

Hands go in, butt comes up.

Doing this will begin your dolphin motion and it will allow for a smoother stroke, being more efficient using your whole body, rather than thinking in increments, you will also notice that this is what begins your kick, thus your whole body will be moving in rhythm.

  5. make a key hole with your arms. btw everyone looks stupid doing it

  6. ok so first of all, not everybody looks stupid swimming butterfly, just people that don't have help/proper training. i guess the people that said that have never seen the olympics. but anyways, you need to make sure that your arms (during the recovery, out of the water) DO NOT bend the elbows. think of having wrists leading. the kick is very difficult to explain, but you need to think of popping your hips up when you kick your feet sharply down. make sure your legs stay as close together as possible. also, your feet should not be coming out of the water much at all. it will take a little while, but you should begin to notice a very natural second kick happens, just due to the movement of your body. try using flippers to get the feel for it, because that exaggerates the feeling and you can become accustomed more easily.

but if you can, just get a coach!

  7. A good way is to practice with fins on first so you can learn the kick. In a butterfly stroke, both of your legs kick together like a mermaid. It is one of the hardest stroke to do. It would help improve your butterfly if you joined a swim team or get a coach. Good Luck.

  8. First, put on fins-they will help you get in to the 'rhythm'.  Then pretend you're a dolphin so your body goes into a wave motion.  Don't froget, your head goes in or down before your arms.  Hope that helps!
