How to measure myself for a violin?

I'm 13, most people say get a size 4, i haven't been to a store yet and i wanted to do it myself how do they measure you in a store and how could i do it myself.

You won't know untill you get to the store. pick the violin up, put it under your shoulder and wrap your fingers around the scroll. If you have got a bit of space imbetween your elbow (inside of) and the back of the violin and you can move your arm a little (up and down) while doing this then its the right size. I would say you would proberbly be a full size violin. Most of my 13 year old students are. This is how i get my students to determine weather going up a size is the right move.
