Question:

How to meet friends?

I'm getting to the point in my life where I'm moving out of the post-teenage redux, and into a more professional/stable era. My problem is that most (all) of my friends are still stuck in that mindset of irresponsibllity where they're not really...adults. Or responsible people.

I think I'm ready for some more 'adult' friends. Who don't have lives filled with crazy drama and endless adolescence. I'd like to have friends who have meaningful goals, stable jobs, educations, and nondramatic relationships, but are still fun - i.e., people like me.

Where do I meet these people? How do I make friends like this? How do I meet people that are more 'young professionals' that I can make friends with? (Work is not a good choice.)

Also, how do I gradually phase out my flaky and irresponsible friends? I am tired like feeling like the 'mom' of the bunch...the only one without drama and WITH some stability...I hate it.

I'm 26 now...I've known a lot of my 'flaky' friends since high school...it feels like I'm the only one who ever really grew up.

I'm tired of the childishness, and I'd like to be friends with some people that I can respect...

I went to college in a different state then where I currently live, plus, I was very focused on my studies, and not so much on my social life while I was in school....
