  1. I didn't melt plastic I poured a liquid and heated it in a copper pot I bought at a thrift store that had a pour spout on one side (like a suace pot or hot chocolate pot and added colors put release coat into the molds and realized for all the time and effort it was a waste so I hand colored with indelable ink marks-a-lot marking pens on already made baits and it was easier by far and worked great.

  2. Melting worms is best done outdoors or in a well ventilated area. Fumes are produced and the smell will make you choke and worse.

first you need a small hotplate. It's not a plate, it's a portable stove top you can buy at any walmart. While you're there, pick up a small aluminum pot about 5 inches wide and just as deep. Don't buy the coated stuff, straight aluminum is best. Pre-heat the pot and start placing your broken/found worms in it. stir constantly or it will burn the plastic and ruin the worm. Once you have it melted down, pour it in your favorite mold and let cool for several hours.

You can also find several websites on the subject with more detail and how to actually make molds. ~good luck catchin'.

  3. If you don't have a melter you could use a stove or a microwave. Microwave is easier and less messy to use than stove. Make sure you open all windows or your house will smell like molten plastic for quite a while.
