Can somebody tell me how to combine 4 cake mixes into one bowl to fill a 18x13x2.5 inch cake pan.

Or does somebody have a classic white recipe at home that i could get to fill the pan .

Thank you in advance for any suggestions you can give me .

Happy Labor Day to you all .

  1. if you mix all four it will over flow the bowl.

  2. You only need 2 mixes for that size cake!!! If you use the 4 mixes you will over fill the pan and it will run all over in your oven and burn and you will be very very unhappy.

Ok, I only mix 2 cake mixes at a time in my mixing bowl. If I need more mixes than that then I mix another one or two after and allow the first batch to just sit there waiting.

Commercial Mixers can handle bigger batches of batter, but most of the time at home we are limited to doing only small batches.

No law says it has to go into the ovens immediately after being poured into the pans. It can sit there waiting for about 4 hours unrefrigerated and 24 or more refrigerated before being baked.

My recipe for white cake is huge and makes about 5 gallons of batter!! You don't want that much at one time.

You can go to http://www.recipezaar.com to find other recipes of cake batters that you may like better than the

commercial mixes  I happen to like the Lady Baltimore recipes for white cakes.

  3. Mix 1 or 2 at a time in a bowl then put them in a large cooking pot, mix 2gether by hand and put in baking pan.

  4. Follow the directions on the box. If they don't all fit in the bowl at a time then mix 2, pour into pan and mix the second 2 and pour into pan.

May need to reduce liquid just a bit.
