I have dry skin and i read that some alcohols in skincare products is good for the skin while some are bad. May i know which are the good ones and which are the bad ones?

I realised all the skincare products i use have alcohol in them. Applying nivea doesnt help my skin get any better and right now i am trying Jergens. Wonder if anyone knows any other better moisturizers?

Thanks.

  1. clinique dramatically different moisturizer

    works WONDERS

  2. Try Aveeno for a bit at first.

    It won't clog your pores.

  3. alcohol is bad, and so are parabens and sulfates....parabens absorb through your skin and have been found to congregate in breast tissue.

This link is to the face line, but they also have body moisturizers that don't contain any of those things.

Seriously...shave your legs, then use the body butter and you'll have the smoothest, softest legs ever!!!

  4. i also have dry skin problems before.  i was so frustrated.  my friend advised me to use an all natural skin care moisturizer.  and it helped a lot in getting rid of my dry skin.

there are also good ways to get rid of dry skin naturally.  one is to eat a balanced diet, have plenty of exercise, drink lots of fluids and get enough rest and sleep. this will help the skin to become healthy, clearer and cleaner.

  5. your dry skin might actually be caused by not drinking enough water, or using the wrong soap. soaps that arent specially designed for the face can dry skin out. if moisturisers arent working, try drinking 8 glasses of water a day, cutting down on alcohol and caffeine consumption, and using a soap designed specially for the face (do not use bar soap!). For a good moisturiser, try e45 cream. It wont contain harsh chemicals as it is designed for sensitive skin.

  6. All alcohol is bad for your skin, not only does it excessively dry out skin WORSE..it also can cause blemishes if applied to open sores on your face. Perhaps the products you are currently using are contributing to your skin issue. Use witch hazel from the drug store as a toner to clean your face...and use aloe vera juice from the grocery store as a moisturizer. Not only are these both healthier for your skin, but they are cheaper. The aloe vera juice will also moisturize your face without giving you that icky greasy/oily feeling later on in the day.

    Good Luck!

  7. please don't use any products for your face and body with alcohol in them. why? because its drying. and there is none that is good for you.

use anything with moisturizing shea butters, which is soothing and leaves your skin well nourished the way it should be.
