How to monitor wireless network without using that connection for Internet?

i have linksys wireless-g wrt54g v2.2. i have i dynex wireless card in my pc. i want to use that to monitor my wireless network between my xbox 360 and a hp laptop but i do not want to connect to that for internet i have two dsl lines in my house the pc is on its own line. im running windows xp. its my roomates laptop so i cant use that to monitor. and hes an idiot.

So u want to view you network activity and or setup your router using your desktop witht eh Dynex card? If this is true then you can access the Web based configuration utility in your router by going to the defalt gateway's IP address. Dy default Linksys uses 192.168.1.1(this is typed on the address bar) the user name is "admin" and the password should be "admin" or left black. After u login u should see the Linksys Confg. web page.
