My mom's name is Cynthia "Cindy" Louise.. I love the name Oliver for my sons first name but i'm not sure how to some how put her name as my sons middle name. Not too jazzed about Lou or Louis. if i were having a girl, her name was going to be Sydnie, a spinoff of Cindy.

any unique ideas?

  18. Here are some possibilities:

    1. Use your mom's maiden name as a middle name for your son. My mom used her grandma's maiden name (Willoughby) for my brother's middle name. It worked great as a middle name.

    2. Cyril; Cyle; Cynan; Cyrano; Cyrus--has the first two (or in the case of Cynan, three) letters in common

    3. Artemis --Cynthia is Greek and is one of the names for the goddess Artemis. Artemis is used for a boy and a girl name.

    4. I know you said you don't like Louis, but maybe an alternate spelling such as Lewis, or an ethnic variant, such as Luigi, might appeal to you more.

I admire that you want to honor your mom with your son's name. Good luck in finding a solution!!

  19. I used my mom's maiden name initials for my son's first and middle name. Her initials were JZ (she has no middle name) and I named him Jamison Zander.
