How to navigate through an airport by yourself?

i've flown many times before but i've never had to check in and do all that stuff alone. i'm 16 if you were wondering. so could someone please explain all the airport lingo and step by step instructions or something? :) i know you go to the travel agent and check in and they weigh your bags and i know what to do after security but in between gets me confused...,

Your gate number and terminal (ex C31..usually means terminal C gate 31) will be on your ticket and there will be signs helping you to find them. But anyone who works at the airport will help you if you get confused. Have fun wherever you are going! :)
