  1. wow..spotting???

  2. Didn't they teach you how to spot?

Find one specific place on the wall. As you start turning, keep your head and eyes facing and looking at that spot. Some people spot their own eyes in the mirror. It helps to spot a little above eye level to keep your chin up.

Anyways, keep your eyes at that spot until you simply can't anymore. Then whip your head around mid turn, and find the place again.

    It's hard to explain: http://www.ballroomdancers.com/Learning_...

    This is a helpful website.

  3. ok im 13 and have been dancing since i was 3 and i expect to dance untill im a senior.but any way you should practice spoting when you spot at somthing it feels much better they tought me that when i was 3 and i still remember that.Spotting is alot easier to do. =]!

  4. SPOTTT! find something in the room and focus on it then , while  turning look at that thing in the room and whip ur head around=  hope that helps

  5. Well, everyone covered it but

    SPOTTING!

Just keep your gaze fixed on a wall or a person!

  6. spot and if that doesn't work unwind yourself or after you turn put you hand vertically right in front of your nose trust me it works

  7. u need to spot when i turn. spotting is when u focus on one thing that is in the direction u are turning and keep looking there until u r about to make a complete turn and u then snap ur head around and repeat it all over again as u continue to turn. sorry if thats a confusing way to put it lol. when i was little my dance teacher would put things on the wall like flowers or something and she'd tell us to spot them as we turned across the floor. if you are doing turns in place though u can just spot something directly in front of u

hope this helped a lil bit =)

  8. Spot.

    You spot your head.

Try a quarter of a pirouette facing toward one wall. Turn, and leave your head where it is, and then after a little take it with you. Then do that over and over again until you can do it while you are spinning.

  9. so you need to spot which is something they should have taught you in order to properly do the dance sequence. i'll try explaining, but it's really easier to learn while watching. you may even want to go online and look at some videos of professional dancers doing to get the idea.

you find a spot in front of you a pretty substantial distance away, but the point is to lock your eyes on a target so that they aren't experiencing the blur of spinning. so you're eyes are locked, and then your body begins turning so turn your head with it but as soon as you stop looking at your point, bring your head around, ahead of your body, to respot the same spot while your body catches up. as it's going through the rotation again, again move your head around to the spot in front of your body.....wow, i don't think that makes much sense. anyway...see if someone can show you! good luck!

  10. Make sure you are spotting. It helps a lot!
