How to obtain a public will in nz for viewing?

am wanting to get hold of a will, have found online exactly where it is,rite down to the box it is stored in at archive nz,they say for a $40 fee i am able to view it at there archives in akl, but as i am not living in nz anymore i am wondering does anyone know if archive nz send copies or email for a fee?

  1. Have you emailed them? Even in the main National Archives in Wellington if you view something you often are not allowed to photocopy the item due to the fragility of the item.

    You need to contact someone at the national archives who can help you.

My understanding is that staff at the archive centres will retrieve the item, photocopy it and send it to you and charge a fee plus costs (i.e. time taken to retrieve and number of pages photocopied). If you can direct them to the exact location of the document you want, then the costs should be low. See link below.

  3. Since there is a fee to see the will you would probably  have to pay it , i don't see any other way around it.you could probably ask them to send you a copy  after you've paid it they might be able to arrange something you never know and good luck.
