Question:

How to obtain copy of birth certificate in Missouri?

My husband's supposed baby mama has filed for full custody of what she claims to be his son. She says that he signed the birthd certificate and was witness to his birth and is asking the court to use that as grounds for paternity. He isn't really denying the child but he says he didnt sign it and wasnt even at the hospital. No DNA tests have been done either. She wants full custody and over $400 a month in child support. If he is in fact the father, he'd want joint custody. He has no problem taking care of his children - but she lied about the certificate and birth. She had cheated on him right before she announced the pregnancy. Thats why he was unsure about paternity. Is there a way to obtain a copy of the signed birth certificate? My husband has a VERY unique signature that you couldn't copy if you tried. It doesn't even look like his name. Can the courts even use just that as grounds for paternity and continue with custody caes?

  1. I live in Missouri and have had a child in Missouri and I don't remember my husband signing the birth certificate.  I may be wrong though.  The birth certificates that you can get do not have any signatures on them just names of mother and father.  He has a right in Missouri to protest the child support and get a DNA test.  I would start with that.  Find out what county she is in and try to get a DNA test done to prove one way or another whether or not it is his baby.
