  1. Word 2007 or 2008, or an earlier version of Word with the plugin to add support for Docx ( http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/H... ) , or the beta version of OpenOffice 3 ( http://openoffice.org/ ).

  2. Docx is the new format used by Office 2007.  You can download a "filter" for this document type to be used by earlier versions of Office from Microsoft's website.  See source for a link.

  3. You will need an office version bigger than 2003.

Docx is not available for older versions.

However, there are free versions of Office Viewer applications to download from microsoft.

But they do only allow you to open the document, not edit it.

  4. the docx is the extension for word documents save in the 2007 format (XML). if your machine have a previous verison you will not be able to open the file.

    click on this:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

this is a link to microsofts webpage where you can download the compatibility pack. with this you will be able to open, edit, and save an 07 file document with your 03 application.

  5. Docx is the new Microsoft Word format. You need to have Microsoft Word 2007 or higher to view this. You can download this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai... to view the files. You can also download this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai... to allow you to open Docx in older versions of Word (2003 and older).
