1 Do i need a license.

2 How do i transfer the money. would it have to be transfered using a pay pal account.

3 What kind of paperwork will i need to show where the money goes.

4 is there any other things i need to know about opening a website to allow people to donate money to charity through my website.

  1. Yes, you would need a business license, as well as legal agreements with all of the nonprofits you want to raise money for. You will need a lawyer, most definitely. And in all likelihood, the organizations are NOT going to allow you to raise money on their behalf.

    A better idea is to simply link on your web site to the web page of each nonprofit that allows for donations online. Many nonprofits have the systems already in place to accept donations online; by linking to these pages, none of the money would go through you, but you would be doing the same thing you originally proposed, but without any paperwork or legal work needed.


  2. You can use Freewebs.com.  They have a system now so you can have people send money to you (as in purchasing things.  Write a sentence or two before you email saying that you promise that all of your money goes to charity.  Or you could write your address on the site and have them send checks; this way when they cash a check they will know exactly what bank account it goes to.
