  1. Right click an HTML file, and go to "Open with"

Or go to Properties and change what it should open with

  2. Changing an .html file to "Open" with notepad will prevent your browser from being invoked.  You want to change the "Edit" operation.

    Assuming you're using Windows XP:

    1. In Windows Explorer (My Computer), click the Tools->Folder Options menu item.

    2. Click the File Types tab.

    3. Scroll down to the HTML file extension and select it.

    4. Click the Advanced button.

    5. Select Edit in the Actions list box and click the Edit button.

    6. In the Application Used to Perform Action text box, substitute the path to Notepad.  Make sure the entire path is enclosed in double quotes.

    7. You might want to turn off the Use DDE checkbox.

    8. OK out of everything.

    Hope that helps.

  3. Well first use a web browser like Avant to access HTML web pages. If you want to edit one of those use MS Front page.

So save the web page to a doc folder then open that page with MS front page and edit till your hearts content.

And you can not edit a web page using NOTE PAD? if you have saved a web page in note pad all you will see is the HTML code which looks like junk to the laymen.

    Follow my above instructions.

  4. update your internet explorer if it is then at your toolbars on the TOP bottom right side there should be page. Under that setting you can choose edit with notepad or under file.
