How to organise a volleyball tournament with 16 teams? What are the steps to follow in preparation?

If you have 4 courts, it is great to put them into 4 groups of 4.  They can play 2 sets to 25 and if you start at 8AM and the pool play will finish around 1PM.  You can take the top 2 teams into a single elimination gold bracket that will have 8 teams.  If you want to give more play, you can also have the bottom 2 teams from each pool into a single elimination bracket for the silver division.  

You should have the first and second place teams on opposite sides of the bracket so they would not meet until the finals if they make it that far.  Your tournament will be done by about 5PM.  

If you only have 2 courts, you could still run 4 pools of 4 and have the teams only play 1 to 25 points.  You could alternate.  Pool A plays at 8AM, pool B plays next, then Pool A and so on.  You will finish around 2PM or so.  Same thing with the brackets explained above.

1. you have to check the court, time, committee, and the participant.

2. you must set the rules, or regulation of your tournament

3. you must invite the participant, because it's just 16 team. cannot with poster.

4. check your comiittee, judges, medical team(first aid), scoreboards or any technical support.

5. the money!! it must enough for any possible accident, and of course the prizes.

6. Make sure all things will go like the plan, a make sure you have another plan for any unecessary case.

7. At least, you must take someone, can be friends or secretary who knows volleyball too, to help you reminding all schedule, help for technical meetings and think creative for all possibility..
