How to overcome bad habits?

i have a few bad habits that people dont know about but any ideas for giving them up would be good.

  1. What you need is motivation and determination. That's all.


  2. start a new habit in place of them, but make sure it is something good. when you try to give up on habit another one will always start so simply start doing a new good habit when your old bad habits show up. for example- when you have a bad habit of overeating you can turn it into something good like a habit of drinking lots of water (which will fill you up so you dont eat as much) or draw when you feel the need to eat.

    if you have a realy bad habit like purging after eating then it will be harder and you will need the help of a friend, and then when you feel like you need to purge you can do something else like clean or something. you need to try to get your mind off of your bad habits when you get the urge to do them. keep yourself busy and it will help.

  3. When you think or feel like doing it, always remind yourself to stop. That's the most effective way. It all boils down to self discipline

  4. Smoking and nail biting, my main ones...pure unadulterated will power...and honesty...smoking is bad for health and will kill you, nails bitten to the quick look vile...just go for it!
