How to overcome being shy around people you don't know?

I'm 14 I'm a guy just started high school and I don't know to many people and I'm shy around people I don't know I think I'm scared of rejected so can somebody help me?

Don't be scared anymore. You need to be confident with yourself before you can be outgoing. Love yourself and it will make people love you.

Just make conversation and join sports teams or clubs.

It's easy for guys to make friends (in my opinion) because they aren't picky.

Don't sweat it.  Most likely you won't be rejected as long as you be yourself.  If they don't like you what's the worst they can do?  Eat you?
