You can overcome dispensing the wrong medicine by reading the label and making sure it is the medicine you want to dispense.  It's fairly simple.

When you realize you've given out the wrong medicine, contact the patient and inform them of the error, your concience will be clear.  Try your best, and remember nobody is perfect, but you can mend errors by admitting to them.

I doubt you are a Pharmacist. Or are you a student? You say you are both. The answer should be self-apparent. Read labels, if you cannot read a prescription call the doctor, and be careful.
