I'm just a "low roller" but it really bugged me to lose $40 so quickly at a Blackjack table last week. I had been to a casino before but it was a slots-only casino in PA. I lost a grand total of between $50 and $60 combined through all three of those trips but didn't feel too bad about it since I was able to play for hours and it was fun. Last week I went to a casino which has table games and after practicing Blackjack by myself at home and feeling confident about it, I went up to the $5 table and lost five straight hands and $25, my limit, and left the table after ten minutes of losing feeling like I had made a fool of myself.
A couple hours (and 5-cent slots) later I convinced myself to go back and changed ten more dollars (the last money I brought). I was able to get up to $40 in BJ winnings but stupidly kept playing and ended up losing it all. I felt and continue to feel so badly about it and don't know why I didn't step away when I was up. How do you rationalize losing?
