How to overcome gum addiction?

After quitting smoking I began chewing gum as a substitute and it worked. Unfortunately now I can't stop chewing gum. I know you can't be physically addicted to gum but its a mental addiction. When I don't have my gum near me I actually crave it to the point where I have anxiety attacks. It'sugar free so it's not really harming me but I want to stop!! Any advice?

  2. Maybe try keeping a water bottle with you all the time (you could get flavored water if you want) and take a sip of water whenever you want gum.
