  1. hit the driving range, the cure for what ails any golf game

  2. shank?

    consuler.

talk to someone, as simple as that.

  3. More specifically, you (and I) need to adjust!

Lately, I find I am making good contact and after 8 holes I'm +2 or +3....then I SHANK my PW! ..or 7i....etc!

Recently, I played a particular Par 3 hole (140 yds downhill) and I SHANKED my PW 3 times in a ROW!  PLUS, I shanked my 9i 3 times on the SAME hole just the PREVIOUS time I played there!

Overcome?  Well, we certainly need to get ALL thoughts of SHANKING OUT of our minds by the time we tee up for the next hole!

To FIX the shank, we need to adjust.  For me, I stand a few inches further away from the ball at address!  I also TRY to FOCUS on keeping my head still on my downswing!

I try to FOCUS even MORE on HITTING DOWN & THROUGH the ball!

Good luck with that!  Recent shanks have cost me at least 2 EXTRA strokes per shank!

  4. Check out the link below to help cure the shanks.  I did it last season and it hasn't been a problem since.

  5. Take up tennis or fishing.  Your done - once the dreaded hosel rockets have begun it is fatal.  And contagious so please stay away from me!!!

  6. with good shots. Not that you don't know how, but learn to hit every shot 50 yards pure again. Then bump up the tempo and speed until the good full shots come. The shanks can be caused by anything, and can go away or comback for any given reason. It is finding your way again that matters.

  7. Keep your head down.  It sounds like you are raising your head during downswing, thus causing you to not hit the ball cleanly.
