  1. Don't think about the importance of the game, just play it. Don't think "I need to win this next point" or "I can't let him break my serve". Most importantly, play your own game and don't let your opponent change the way you play. You will remain comfortable and feel like you're in control of your points. Have a training session or two where you only play with topspin, put topspin onto every ball you hit back. After a while, it will become second nature and a part of your game, you won't need to think about it.

  2. I would just recommend playing tournaments or just matches in general.  The more experience you have playing and being in those pressure situations, the better you will be at them.  Also, I had and sometimes still have this problem to just rally the ball back and forth on an important point, but whenever I hit the ball with more speed, I make it in.  So, I recommend not playing coservatively and hit out on the ball and you will see better results.

  3. there are a number of ways you can do this: some are.................. get lots of game time and practice, practice........ play some one you can flog to build your confidence......pump yourself up while your on the court

you basically just need to find what works for you good luck.

  4. Either you have a fear of winning, which causes you to shift focus from the game unto the "situation" if you are ahead.

Or you give up early,  if you're down, you MUST keep positive. Its not over till the fat lady sings, and if you watch Nadal play when he's way down, or Federer, they will end up winning because they FIGHT and never ever say the game is over, until they shake hands with the other guy.

So what if you're down 0-40, they won 3 points in a row, so now you win 3 in a row.

Practice spins and slices during practice and drills, not during the match.  That you can discuss with your coach.

  5. pump yourself up saying lets go etc. think about winning the point and ways of doing it to block out your nervousness.
