  1. They sell a product at home depot for bathtubs and sinks.  It's an epoxy paint.  It will cost you 30 to 40 bucks.  No 150 grit... way too rough.   JUst use some steel wool and work it around the whole tub.  Open the window for ventilation and apply with brush and little roller.

Let it dry and it's done...don't think they have colors,  though

  2. The first answerer is right.

Paint will wear off in no time.

You can use sandpaper, but VERY fine grit.

Then paint on the enamel stuff- unfortunately, it takes 4 days to dry- so you need to use another tub for 4 days.

  3. If you don't know the best grit number to use, use the one to take the least off to gradually work your way down; it's the safest way.  Don't use just any old paint.  They sell an epoxy paint specially made for bathtubs.  You can't brush it on, but then you'll have brush strokes.  You could call a professional in with a spray gun to spray the finish on, but it's actually as expensive or less expensive ($500) to put in a new tub (provided you know how to do the plumbing and slide it in yourself).

  4. use a plone paint with catalyst
