How to patten a creation

I made a thing, and everyone is telling me to patten it. Anyone know how to do that and what it costs?

Go to the United States Patent Office.

They have forms online that you can file.  You might need to phone them up to see what the cost is, I am not sure on that one.

Go to www.uspto.gov and find out how to PATENT your invention.

The US Patent Office is the place to go .  You have to have a working model.  Don't pay anyone to do this.  there are a lot of scams that get you a "low-level" patent that anyone can get by paying $20. /
