Question:

How to pay for pilot training? Different careers as a pilot?

My husband has his private pilots license and we ran out of money for him to finish so we are getting him through school in aviation management. I want him to follow his dream and be a pilot. What are some possibilities other than the air force? (He is already thinking about that) I really want us to be able to live a normal family life and see each other. What careers as a pilot would allow for that?

  1. As far as the degree goes, he can always get a loan, or scholarship. If its his first degree he can apply for FAFSA, he might be eligible for grants/loans.

For the career, he get his CFI, work, make money and build up hours, its not very good pay, but you dont have to pay for plane rentals. To get any kind of paying job that isn't flight instructing he needs his commercial.

  2. Not sure what you'd call normal but if you need him home every night being a pilot is not the career. But if you want to follow his dream, why are you putting that roadblock up?
