I have several layers of excess paint on my car. It does not need to be stripped to bear metal. What is the easiest way to strip several layers off?

  1. You can't just peel a few layers off. You can use chemical stripper (spray or brush on) or have it done at a shop using one of several mediums available. Don't pour soda pop on it. It will not work and just make a sticky mess.

  2. use paint stripper, the kind they use in stripping furnature and see if it will come off.

  3. If the paint sticks, why would you want to take it off?   Wasn't that the whole idea?   The paint doesn't know that it is several layers deep.

What is the difference between using paint or bondo?   The finished surface is all that you see.

You want to know how to take it off fast?  Sandpaper on a disk grinder.    And you go to bare metal.  Messing around with strippers, is just for bars and nightclubs.    There is no control when you are doing it on your car....and then you got to get all that c**p off and then a chemical wash before priming again.     Drysanding, blown off with an air hose and a wipe and you are ready to prime.

  4. Soada! It works regular coke
