  1. To do an underhand serve to hold the volleyball down but on a flat surface on ur hand, then take the other hand, make a fist, but with ur palm facin up,bend the fist back and hit the volleyball right wher ur arm ends and ur hand begins, hope I was helpful and good luck it'll take practice, although overhand serves and prolly WAY betr! Have FUN!:)

  2. The best way to contact the ball is by keeping your fingers flat against your palm.  You want to be able to see your fingernails, don't tuck them under.  You want to create a flat surfact to hit the ball against.  The main part that should hit the ball is the ball of your palm.

  3. it's pretty much common sense. just don't forget to swing all the way through. if you want to put some funky knuckle-action on it u can hit it on the nipple of the ball.

  4. Personally I think an over-hand serve is more accurate and powerful, but to correctly do an underhand serve you use an open hand. Start with your dominant leg back and step and swing in one motion hitting the ball directly out of the oposite hand.  But make sure you line the ball up infront of your dominant shoulder so you dont twist.  Have fun!

  5. Most of these answers are okay, but they are missing a key point. To "legally" serve the ball underhand, it cannot be sitting in your hand when you contact it to serve. You actually must release it right before you are ready to make contact.

If you think of how someone might serve overhand, they do not hold it up high and hit it. You must first toss it (release it) before you can hit it to perform the serve.

  6. ok.....you hold the ball in the opposite hand that you right with, then you swing the arm that you wright with back and knock the ball right out of your hand.when you do it, you want to stay low,if it goes high, the better chance the other team has to get the ball back over the net.

well hope i helped and GOOD LUCK!!!

  8. an over hand sever is the best it has power speed and it can dip or die to the ground.an under hand sever is for beginners. but if u really want to learn u bend Ur finger to try to make a flat surface hit it flat as u get better u can twit your wrist to put some spin on it..

  9. if u r right handed place the ball in ur left hand. extend ur arm all the way. when u r swing ur arm to hit the ball step forward with ur left foot. hit the ball with the heel of ur palm. DONT THROW THE BALL INTO THE AIR BEFORE U HIT IT. right before u hit the ball let go of the ball and swing away.

  10. square up to the net

hold the ball in your left hand(if right handed)

swing arm and hit the ball with a closed hand

  11. Why would you want to?  Overhanded is much stronger...

  12. Personally, I have to agree with the majority of everyone else who has answered. Serving over-handed gives you better control over the volleyball, you can be more accurate when placing the ball in key weak spots, and it is much harder and faster, therefore making it harder to receive by the other team. But if you want to continue to serve under-handed, don't close your hand all the way and use more of your palm opposed to using your fist. Good Luck!
