I do not want to go to Public school, I dislike everyone there very much. They are mean and only used me for things. I feel very uncomfortable at Public school and I am very depressed and anxious. I haven't had school friends since the fifth grade and I do not plan on conversating with them. Last year I tried very hard to be friends with them but they did not talk to me even though I gave up all of my creativity to be lame and similar to them.

  1. Here's a blog entry with some tips on talking to your parents about homeschooling http://www.virtualonlineschool.blogspot....

  2. Tell them what you said here. I also recommend a book called The Well adjusted Child: the social benifits to homeschooling by Racheal Gathercole. great book. It talks about- How did man-kind continually develop before the practice of mandatory schooling? How many people that you went to school with are you still friends with after graduation day? Why are kids locked in a room together just because they are the same age? Why have we turned school into a job for our children? This book is great for your parents to read.

Now second. What kinda program would you use in place of school? Can your parents afford a fancy complete curricullum, or do you have to do it on the cheap? Who is going to be there to help you with your lessons?

I use K12 its internet school and in my state its free and accrediated. great 4 me, but there are rules on attendence. Are you able to disipline yourself and do your work every day?

  3. Ok so you don't like the kids at public school.  If you do online schooling, the requirement should be that you have a part time job, too, to get you out of the house daily.  You can't stay at home all day alone.  Your schooling won't take you all day, in fact, home-schooling/online schooling will only take you 2 - 4 hours a day.

If you work, then make it a goal to put 1/2 the money in a savings.

Show your parents you will be responsible with your day.  You can't be laying around, sleeping in.  Set the alarm for 7:30 a.m., get up, have your favorite breakfast, then get busy with your schooling.  Schooling in the morning, work in the afternoon/early evening.  You will have to get good grades, too.  Your parents will want proof that this is working out.

No one is to be in the house either, unless it is the weekend and your parents are there.

Being out in the work world will give you a better idea of what you like and give you a direction for going to college.  You shouldn't think that doing online college will be next.  Plan to go to college, because there will be a much wider variety of people for you to meet and interact with.  If you have a specific major it is better to go to a university.  There is lots of "networking" that helps with studying, future job opportunities, internships, etc.
