How to pick a place to live?

I grew up in SLC, UT and I skied for 20+ years and was a river guide for 7+ years. Loved it. However, I always felt SLC was not the best place to further my carreer (Marketing/Advertising) so I moved to Seattle. I like it here but the commute to the skiing and the weather is really wearing me down. Is there a place that has all the great things I love about the outdoors and isn't totally limited with carreer opps?

  1. There's Vancouver in Canada - it's on the coast (water), very close to the mountains (skiing all year long) and it's a big city with many career opportunities.

  2. Have you ever considered the Reno, Nevada area?  No state income tax is a big plus.  Also, Lake Tahoe skiing and water sports are close by.
