  1. what i do is i put the surfboards fin up with the boards hanging out of the bed a little. but if you have like an expedition or a car without a bed i put them on the top of the car with towels if you have more than one board put a rolled up towel at the nose and the tail. and use a bunge strap across the car to strap them in.

    glad to help.

  2. If you are asking this question you should not be surfing.

  3. ME ftw:

    fins hanging out the tailgate

    fins up

piece of foam/towel under the nose of the board

strap down the back of the board if you can

  4. get a board bag duhhhhhhhhh! thts wat i do works great and mkes ur board lok like its super special wen u pull it out

  5. I put my  board in my truck fins down and watch it bounce around in the wind in my rear view mirror. It hasn't flown out yet but if you plan on driving over 80 mph, I suggest putting your wetsuit over it to weigh it down. That's what I've done for the last 4 years since I've had a truck.

  6. I carry my board all the time in the bed of my F150 PU truck, plus sometimes carry up to 10 boards for my surf school.  I've never had a problem.  You need to have tie hooks or something to hook on.  Get yourself two bungee cords that will stretch crosswise across the bed, plus one that stretches across the back.  Best if you put your board in a bag.  For my longboard and when I have several boards, put the shorter boards under and lay your longboards on top with the fins up just beyond the bed.  If you just have a single board, put it in the bed rear (away from the cab)  with fin up and put the cross bungee on the board in front of the fin.  For a short board, lay it upside down whit the fin near the cab.  The cross bungee goes in front of the fin.  I also had a small PU with a short bed.  For that I fixed up a rear pipe mount so I could use a soft rack over the cap and lash the rear of the board to the rack.  No problems with that one either.

  7. all of these ways work well. They make a set of soft racks spec. for truck beds but I made a se from a) closet rods b) s***w in eye hooks c) foam roll bar padding and d) soft bungee cords. The store bought ones are not cheap considering they are really simple.

  8. dude, just lay your board across your tail gate(fins on the out side of the gate facing down, put a tie strap over it. i know you have hooks on each side of the bed every truck does. you may want to put it in a bag or wrap a towel around where the board is on the gate, and don't tie it to tight you may pressure ding the board. by the way the tail gate should be up.
