  1. A very traditional order -

Let's say your ceremony was 2:30 p.m., then you would all go for photographs.

    Cocktails 5:00 p.m.

Dinner 6:00 p.m., program follows with toasts, etc. Wedding party arrives just before dinner.

    about 8:00 p.m. - cake cutting

about 8:30 p.m. - first dance, family dances, wedding party dance, open dance for all

around 10:30 p.m. - bouquet and garter toss, just before break for late lunch

Then dancing resumes til when you have your venue for, as long as you have your music, as long as you have the license for the open bar.

  2. you and your groom will arrive after your photos.

there will usually but not necessarily be a drinks reception, either tea & coffee or alcoholic drinks if your having an expensive wedding.

Then guests can mingle until the dinner when people are seated your meal served with speeches before or after. Then the people can mingle again, have they're favours and meal entertainment, cut the cake and then night entertainment like a dj

Depending on what time you have your meal at you can serve a buffet or little sandwiches in the evening for your reception only guests
